The Resurrection Power Living In You
November 20, 2025 | André K. Dugger
“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then he who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through his Spirit who lives in you.”
Romans 8:11 (CSB)
You often face days when your strength feels completely spent; when your body aches, your heart feels heavy, and your spirit seems weary from the weight of life. In those moments, Romans 8:11 reminds you of a breathtaking truth: the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. This is true for you as long as you have received God’s grace by placing your faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, and confessed Him as Lord of all and received Him as your Lord and Savior. The very power that broke open the tomb and gave life to the lifeless body of Christ now dwells within your heart, renewing, sustaining, and empowering you daily.
This isn’t just poetic language; it’s a living reality for every believer. The Holy Spirit’s presence isn’t distant or symbolic. He actively works within you, giving strength when you’re weak, hope when you’re discouraged, and spiritual vitality when sin and suffering threaten to drain your soul. You are not left to survive life on your own power; resurrection power resides in you.
One day, this truth will culminate in your complete redemption. The same Spirit who brings spiritual life now will one day raise your mortal body in glory, transforming you into Christ’s likeness. But even now, before that day comes, the Spirit is already breathing new life into every weary part of your existence. Every act of faith, every step of obedience, every word of encouragement you speak is evidence of His life at work in you.
When you display love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, (Galatians 5:22-23) it is evidence of the Holy Spirit of God living in you. It is the resurrection power of Jesus, through the Holy Spirit that allows you to live in a way that honors God. Thank Him for His power at work in your life today.
So today, remember, you carry resurrection life. You are never powerless. The same Spirit that rolled away the stone still moves through you, bringing light into dark places and strength to your weakness. Live with confidence that the One who raised Jesus from the dead is still raising you, every single day.
Reflection Questions
- What areas of your life feel lifeless and in need of resurrection power today?
- How does knowing the Spirit lives in you change the way you face temptation or discouragement?
- In what ways have you seen the Spirit bring renewal or strength in your past?
- How can you rely more fully on the Holy Spirit’s power instead of your own?
- What does it mean to, and for, you personally that one day your mortal body will be raised to life
Closing Prayer
- Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for placing Your Spirit within me, the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead. Breathe new life into every weary part of me today. Strengthen me to live with hope, power, and holiness. Let Your resurrection power shine through my words, my actions, and my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
