Where Is Your Spain?
June 19, 2026 André K. Dugger
“I hope to see you when I pass through on my way to Spain, and to be assisted by you for my journey there, once I have first enjoyed your company for a while.”
Romans 15:24 (CSB)
As we begin this journey tracing the footsteps of the Apostle Paul, we start with a place Scripture never records him reaching; but one that reveals his heart: Spain. For Paul, Spain represented the edge of the known world, the place where the gospel had not yet been proclaimed. It was not about comfort, recognition, or even certainty; it was about obedience to the call of Christ.
Paul’s words in Romans are not just travel plans; they are a window into a life fully surrendered. He longed to go where Christ had not been named. He was willing to rely on others, to be sent, supported, and strengthened through partnership. His mission reminds us that the kingdom of God advances not through isolation, but through unity.
As I stand at the beginning of this journey, I am reminded that we all have a “Spain.” It may not be a distant country; it may be a conversation, a relationship, a step of obedience we’ve been avoiding. Often, our “Spain” is where faith stretches us beyond what is comfortable and into what is eternal.
God does not call us to ease; He calls us to faithfulness. And just as Paul needed others to help send him, we are reminded that we are part of something bigger than ourselves. Your prayers, your encouragement, and your partnership matter more than you know.
Reflection Question: What is the “Spain” God is calling you to step toward in faith right now?
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for calling me into Your mission. Show me where You are leading me beyond my comfort and into deeper obedience. Give me the courage to step into my “Spain,” trusting that You will provide every need along the way. Strengthen the partnerships in my life so that together we may advance Your kingdom. In Jesus name, Amen.
